Technology startup in the field of defense and critical infrastructure Chaos industry raised $145 million in Series B led by Speed upbecoming the latest defense technology company to receive large amounts of money from investors.
The round was also attended by, among others: 8VC 1, Overmatch ventures, Lerner company and current insiders. The Los Angeles-based startup raised $70 million in Series A funding last yr, led by 8VC.
Chaos specializes in advanced sensing, monitoring and communication solutions for the defense and industrial sectors. The company’s Vanquish radar provides early warning and tracking capabilities against unmanned aerial systems, missiles and aircraft.
“U.S. national security is at a turning point,” said the founder and co-CEO John Tenet In release. “As our adversaries become more sophisticated, America must employ next-generation technological innovations to counter more complex national security threats. This financing will accelerate Chaos Industries’ ability to deliver the cutting-edge technology solutions the United States and its allies need to remain secure.”
Big money
Chaos is not alone in raising a large pool of funding for other defense technology startups. In the last three months alone, several defense technology startups have seen significant money flow into their coffers.

In mid-September, the autonomous driving technology company Forterra closed a $75 million Series B led by Hedosophy, Moore’s strategic ventures AND XYZ enterprise capital.
It looks like more big rounds are sure to come in the sector.
