Expanding into other countries and cultures poses unique challenges, including finding local partners and adapting to local tastes. However, the challenge is often value it: success strengthens the brand as a whole and makes its systems even higher here at home. That’s why in this annual rating we distinguish the corporations that have been most successful in international franchise programs.
To determine this rating, we start with our proprietary Franchise 500 rating formula – which evaluates franchise corporations on over 150 data points on costs and fees, size and growth, franchisee support, brand strength and financial strength – and adjusts it to provide greater importance to the size of the system and development outside the United States. Each company receives a rating after passing this formula, and the corporations that rating the best turn out to be our Top 200 Global Franchises.
Whether you are interested in opening a franchise outside the United States or just need to buy a world-renowned brand, this list can function a great start line.
