Before the conversation, we talked to Joe to get information about his product and his entrepreneurial journey.
What inspired you to create Ollyball?
My 9-year-old daughter cried in the kitchen after breaking things at home with volleyball. I knew that if we could come up with a ball for parents to let our youngsters play at home, we might sell tens of millions of them. This became an obsession with 100 prototypes, two American public patents and the toy prize of the yr before we went to Mass Market.
How did you test it?
I made a lot of prototypes of assorted materials and sizes. I might take children to a kid’s club with a 24-hour fitness and told them to take prototypes with me. I might watch if the children are in this or not. When I brought the early version of the employed Krunchcor Construction Ball On Saturday, the children went Bonkers, and the manager needed to take the ball because everyone fought for it. I knew we were near the answer.
Any other great moments that stand out about the early days?
When the hosts CBS Morning Show I started to drill each other Ollyballs live on domestic television. At that moment they were children at the playground. Another key moment was the post on Instagram from 2019 a child named Martin Vodicka and his father in Austria, playing Ollyball together in their home. I spotted that the ball could change the world.
What was your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
Kovid and tariffs. I treated them the same: go to the crisis and full strength and find an unfair competitive advantage. Our turn was to make a reckless jump of religion. Financial was one other big challenge – investing 150 thousand. USD savings, growing profits and repeling predatory investors. The key point was the trust of the two guys I met by performing a non-profit/charity service, CPA and a patent representative.
What advice would you give entrepreneurs looking for financing?
When you would like capital, you will not get it. When you do not need capital, everyone will offer it – don’t take it. My best advice is to avoid giving up capital and joy of learning every dimension in your organization and brand. Take care of the brick of the Empire by Bloody Brick.
How do you suggest preparing for the pitch?
Predict a room filled with holes and asks a-hole questions. Outarówka and have a real answer to every query about A-Hole. It forces reality.
What does the word “entrepreneur” mean for you?
“Survivor.” Films Redempting Shawshank AND There can be blood Illustrate each the top and the dungeon of entrepreneurship.
What is something that many aspiring business owners think they need, what they really don’t?
Money. At the end of the corridor, I founded my first company on the table and a metal chair that I exchanged for work.
