Cognition, a startup of AI coding, who purchased a competing Windsurf company three weeks ago, released 30 employees last week and offers buyout of about 200 other employees in the team, reports information.
This is the latest Whiplash attack, with which Windsurf employees stood on a turbulent episode for the company. The startup was initially almost acquired by OpenAI, and then lost its general director, co -founder, and the research results in Google in a contract price $ 2.4 billion generally known as the opposite watercover (in which Google employed key talent, not the purchase of a company) before it was finally acquired by cognition.
At the time of taking up, the cognition stated that 100% of Windsurf employees would receive financial compensation under the contract and emphasized that the company was excited by the introduction of Windsurf’s “world -class people” in order to develop the highest quality coding tools.
Now it becomes clear that Windsurf’s mental property, not his talent, was a real purchase.
According to the e -mails browsed, the employees received by August 10 to determine whether or not they need to buy, which is nine months of salary. People who determine to remain are reportedly obliged to spend six days in the office and the clock greater than 80 hours of weeks – Draconian, which became Table rates among employees in the best AI firms.
“We do not believe in the balance between professional and private life-building the future of software engineering is a mission that we care about so much that we could not separate these two,” wrote the Cognition Cognition Scott Wu in e-mail.
