VC Giant Insight Partners notify employees and limited partners

Venture Capital Insight Partners claims that it has accomplished the notification of many people, including a limited partnership company, whose personal data was stolen by hackers in the January violation of information.

IN Statement at the end of last weekThe company said that it had accomplished the review in August after violating the data, which it described as “social engineering attack” without further explanation.

According to the earlier notification, the stolen data contained information about the funds of some partners, management firms and portfolio firms. The company also undertook bank and tax information, because it said, in addition to personal information about its current and former employees and its limited partners – typically private and unnamed investors who help provide capital with Insight Funds.

So far, Insight Partners have stored detailed information about the violation in compresses, including the number of individuals, the data was stolen, or provided a copy of the notification sent to individuals who are asked by TechCrunch. The company didn’t say whether it received a demand from hackers from extortion or paid to hackers. (It often happens that firms face payment demands in exchange for deletion or do not publish stolen data.)

Kristen Zeck, spokesman for Insight Partners, didn’t answer the e -Mail with questions about violation.

The company has over 90 billion dollars of assets as a part of management and has invested today in one of the largest cybersecurity firms, including Databicks and Wiz.

Insight Partners joins a handful of other Venture firms in recent years to be hacked.

Advanced Technology Ventures The Silicon Valley Venture company was affected by the ransomware attack in 2021, in the same 12 months in which Sequoia’s partners experienced Data violation. Both incidents allowed hackers to maneuver personal data with the limited partners of their firms.
