Juicebox collects $ 30 million from Sequoia to revolutionize employment with LLM drive search

Over the years, recruiters have used machine learning to find potential employees, looking for keywords in CV and LinkedIn profiles. Although this method helps to narrow down the pool of candidates, recruiters still have to manually review each profile to determine the best job match.

David Paffenholz (in the photo on the left) and Ishan Gupta, respectively, only 22 and 19 years old, respectively, they realized that LLM can find talent faster and more efficiently. Built JuiceboxAI powered search engine that uses natural language to analyze skilled profiles, personal web sites and other publicly available information to discover the most qualified candidates.

After attending the Y startup accelerator, Combinator in the summer of 2022, Paffenholz and Gupta spent several years improving their product. When their AI search engine, Peoplegpt, was ready at the end of 2023, it was quickly received by a big selection of shoppers, from small startups to large corporations, reminiscent of cognition, ramp and embarrassment.

In a short time he served over 2,500 customers and achieved over $ 10 million of annual repetitive revenues (ARR).

On Thursday, Juicebox announced that he collected $ 36 million in complete financing, including a round price $ 30 million, run by Sequoia.

David Cahn, a sequoia partner, learned about the company, catching up with the founding father of the startup at an early stage, which said he used Juicebox for all his recruitment activities. Cahn told Techcrunch that the founder hired a dozen or so people without the use of a skilled recruiter, which was previously very difficult to do.

Such an enthusiastic review of Juicebox aroused Cahn’s interest. Soon after, Cahn learned that the internal recruiter of Sequoia also tried Juicebox to help the company in his own employment efforts, which meant that he was much more excited about the potential of startup growth.

When Cahn finally met with Paffenholz and Gupta, he was much more impressed.

“I’m not sure if I have ever seen a company with four people who have 2,000 customers with this small team,” said Cahn.

Although Juicebox has been employing eight additional employees since then, the company still attracts customers without a sales team.

Customers partly come to Juicebox, because the speed of employment is extremely necessary for corporations racing to build AI.

What distinguishes Juicbox search engine is his ability to apply for candidates like a man.

“We help find new net candidates that have not been found elsewhere, because profiles may not have keywords or types of things that we would expect during regular searches,” said Paffenholz from TechCrunch.

The startup product is popular not only among small corporations that do not have a devoted recruiter, but also with talent teams in large corporations. By automating the search for candidates, the tool releases internal recruiters to focus more on building relationships with potential employments.

After identifying Juicebox candidates, his agent can mechanically send them with e -mail and plan the initial connections.

While juicebox is growing rapidly, older startups of talents, reminiscent of (*30*), also add artificial intelligence search functions.

Despite this, Cahn is convinced that Paffenholz and Gupta can transform Juicebox into a obligatory product for a pile of technology of each startup.

“We have invested in many companies that have become default startups such as Stripe,” he said. “I think Juicebox has a chance to be the default in which every startup, [it’s] The first thing they use to employ their first employees. “
