Vibe encoding is evolving and with it leading AI-powered coding services and tools, incl AnthropicClaude’s code.
Starting today, the service can be available on the web and in preview in the Claude app for iOS, giving developers access to additional asynchronous capabilities. Previously, it was available via Terminal on developer machines with support for Git, Docker, Kubernetes, npm, pip, AWS CLI, etc., and as an extension for Microsoft’s open source VS Code Editor and other JetBrains-based integrated development environments (IDEs) via Agent Claude.
“Claude Code on the web allows you to start a coding session without opening a terminal,” Anthropic wa said blog entry. “Connect your GitHub repositories, describe what you need, and Claude will take care of the implementation. Each session runs in its own isolated environment with real-time progress tracking, and you can actively control Claude to adjust course as you complete tasks.”
This allows users to run coding projects asynchronously, a trend sought by many enterprises.
The web version of Claude Code, currently in preview, can be available to Pro and Max users. However, the online version of Claude Code can be subject to the same speed limits as other versions. Anthropic limited speed limits to Claude and Claude Code after the coding tool’s unexpected popularity in July, which allowed some users to launch Claude Code overnight.
Anthropic now says Claude Code is closer to the availability of rival OpenAI’s Codex AI coding platform OpenAI, powered by a GPT-5 variant, which can be available again on mobile devices and the web mid-September 2025
Parallel use
Anthropic says running Claude Code in the cloud means teams can “now perform multiple tasks in parallel across different repositories from a single interface and deliver solutions faster with automatic PR creation and transparent change summaries.”
One of the biggest advantages of coding agents is that they permit developers to run multiple coding projects at once, corresponding to fixing bugs. Google‘S two coding agentsJules and Code Assist offer asynchronous code generation and checking. Code With OpenAI also enables parallel work.
Anthropic says making Claude Code available online won’t disrupt workflow, but noted that running tasks in the cloud works best for tasks corresponding to answering project questions and mapping repositories, correcting errors, and for routine, well-defined tasks and backend changes to check for any customizations.
While most developers probably prefer to use Claude Code on a desktop, Anthropic says the mobile version could encourage more users to “experiment coding with Claude on the go.”
Isolated environments
Anthropic insisted that Claude Code cloud jobs would have the same level of security as the earlier version. It runs in an “isolated sandbox environment with network and file system restrictions.”
Interactions go through a secure proxy service, which the company says ensures the model only accesses authorized repositories.
Enterprise users can customize the domains that Claude Code can connect to.
Claude Code runs on the Claude Sonnet 4.5 platform, which Anthropic claims is the best encoding model available. The company recently created Claude Haiku 4.5, a smaller version of Claude that also has powerful encoding capabilities, available to all Claude subscribersincluding free users.
