This week continues How success happensI spoke with Adam Wexler, CEO and co-founder Selection of prizes. Wexler has had an incredible profession and I used to be curious to learn about his journey to becoming an entrepreneur and his tips for success.
You can hearken to our entire conversation above, and I drew three key takeaways below. I hope you are as inspired by Wexler as I’m.
Learn from your early endeavors
Wexler’s early ventures similar to GoRankem honed his entrepreneurial skills, and serving Fortune 500 firms with Insightpool enriched his knowledge. “One thing that is consistent in each of my chapters as an entrepreneur is that I am usually good at combining different concepts from different industries,” he says.
“By 2014, Insightpool had multimillion-dollar revenues and we were one of the fastest-growing companies in Atlanta,” Wexler continued. “At the end of the day, I’m more of an entrepreneur than anything else, and I had two other business concepts I was considering, and I decided to plant those seeds.”
Love what you do, don’t do what you like
When Wexler started off, he was told to “do what you love.” Even though he loved the sports industry, he didn’t want to begin a $10-an-hour job calling a sports team. “Personally, I think much better advice is to love what you do,” he says. “You can love what you do in many different industries, but being told to do what you love is limiting.”
Be passionate in every little thing you do
PrizePicks was created because Wexler’s passion for sports and innovation got here together and the product he was looking for was not available on the market. “I liked the premise of daily fantasy sports, but I didn’t like the execution, so we simplified the concept and made it more accessible to the masses,” he says. – I think we have largely succeeded.
