Mirjahangira’s Dara is a hospitality industry veteran and owner/managing partner of Asian Fusion New York hotspot Sei Less. The restaurant became a reality after a probability conversation between Mirjahangira and a then-Brooklyn Nets player Kevin Durant. “He (Durant) thought we wanted a club in New York. After the match, somewhere where I can go and feel prefer it’s almost like being a member of a cultural club,” Dara Mirjahangiry told the host of Restaurant Influencers Shawn Walchef from Cali BBQ Media.

These words enraged the Mirjahangirs. Sei Less opened shortly thereafter in New York in January 2022 and has since been a fixture in the New York fantastic dining scene.

Storytelling on social media

Before the digital revolution in the 2000s, Mirjahangiry benefited from the interpersonal connections that were available before social media. When social media technology emerged, he found it to be an effective method to enhance interactions and build a brand. He used this data to build his own brand after doing so successfully for other restaurants.

“I built a fan base, I built a brand for myself. And that’s what networking is,” says Mirjahangiry. “It’s just being able to connect the dots.”

These connections became the foundation of Sei Less’s customer base, which has grown to incorporate some of the most famous names in sports, entertainment and music, including Cardi B and 50 Cent.

Dara Mirjahangira’s commitment to hospitality excellence extends to providing a white-glove experience for a diverse range of shoppers. “It starts with food,” he explains. “We will provide them with a facility where we have private dining areas and a place where they can come and feel comfortable.”

Apart from meals

As the company grew and more work was done inside the partitions of Sei Less, Mirjahangiry saw the potential of getting a versatile space. In particular, he desires to create a field for media ventures.

He and his partners are at the forefront of podcasting ventures, and their goal is to create a curated hub for content enthusiasts, providing a platform for diverse voices and topics. “I see an opportunity in me, in terms of the entrepreneur and the business side, to really become a curator of the podcast,” Mirjahangiry says.

“We have several media and technology partners who obviously see value in what we do. We have the ability to drive traffic to certain podcasts.”

With an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of innovation, Dara Mirjahangiry helps connect the hospitality and media landscapes. His unwavering commitment to excellence, combined with his ability to create meaningful connections, distinguishes him as a pioneer in the industry.

“I think the beauty of what we do at Sei Less is really bringing together people from different backgrounds who have common interests.”
