Agave Games announced today that it has secured $18 million in Series A funding following a successful seed round earlier this 12 months. Felix Capital and Balderton Capital co-led the round, which included E2VC. According to Agave, it plans to use the funds to develop its popular mobile puzzle game Find the Cat, in addition to explore opportunities to create recent games and expand its team at its Istanbul location.
Find the Cat is a easy puzzle game in which players must, as the name suggests, find a cat. According to Agave, the game had over 10 million downloads in its first quarter. Alper Oner, CEO of Agave Games, said in a statement: “This investment allows us to double the success of Find the Cat while exploring new ideas that will redefine casual puzzle games. We are excited to take our studio to the next level by expanding our team and portfolio with games that set new standards within established genres.”
As previously stated, the studio plans to create recent mystery titles as a sequel to Find the Cat, with plans to release at least two of them in the coming 12 months. According to Agave, it plans to focus on progressive gameplay mechanics and social features, while also focusing on dual monetization through in-app promoting and in-app purchases. Baran Terzioglu, CEO and co-founder of Agave, said in a statement that the recent games “will push the boundaries of what gamers expect from casual games, introducing new concepts that we believe will resonate around the world.”
Rob Moffat, partner at Balderton Capital, said in a separate statement: “Find the Cat is an overnight success that has been two years in the making. Agave has built an exceptional team and has worked very hard to discover and optimize recent genres and create polished games. Find the Cat is just the starting. I can not wait for this company’s next projects to be launched in 2025.
