Amazon agreed to speculate one other $4 billion in the AI startup Anthropic, AND ChatGPT compete with your AI assistant Claude.
Only last fall did Amazon agree to speculate as much as $4 billion in Anthropic, giving the Seattle-based e-commerce and cloud giant a minority stake in the startup. The direct investment was $1.25 billion, with the remaining $2.75 billion coming earlier this 12 months.

This recent investment means Amazon will invest $8 billion in Anthropic while retaining its minority stake in the startup, Anthropic says. blog.

Big money
Of course, Amazon is not the only Big Tech company making big bets on AI startups.
Microsoft invested a huge sum of 10 billion dollars OpenAI already in January 2023. Since then, corporations reminiscent of Nvidia, Salesforce 1 AND Google he placed several bets.
Google is also an investor in Anthropic.
The large money deal with Amazon is actually only the second-largest AI deal this week.
