Last week, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy told employees they’d have to return to physical work five days a week by January 2. New survey of two,585 Amazon employees by the Blind Man said 91% were “dissatisfied” with the recent mandate to return to office.
Do they? dissatisfied enough yet take motion? Nearly three in 4 (73%) say yes and are already considering looking for one other job.
In the note, Jassy noted that “strengthening our culture remains a top priority” and that “[thinks] about all of it the time.”
“Teams tend to have better contact with each other,” Jassy added.
However, a survey by Blind found that the recent RTO policy is having the opposite effect. Most corporate Amazon employees said they didn’t wish to return to the office five days a week, and about 80% already knew people looking for one other job.
“My morale for this job has dropped, it will totally work until PIP” a Verified Amazon Specialist wrote on Blind.
According to the report, Amazon hiring managers anonymously also said that candidates were resigning job interviews in response to the recent mandate.
“The overall RTO policy is crazy, especially for those of us who have been hired remotely and far from the office. I have kids and family here, so I don’t want to move,” a verified Amazon skilled who identifies himself as said the parent. “Even if I didn’t do it, there’s too much risk of me getting laid off in 6 months, so why risk moving?”
Amazon has not commented yet in the Blind Report. The survey was conducted on September 17-19, 2024 and concerned employees verified in the USA.
