D-ID acquires a Berlin Simpleshow video startup

The Video generation and D-ID editing platform said on Tuesday that she had purchased the Berlin Video B2B video platform Prostrshow. Companies didn’t reveal the financial conditions of the contract.

The Simpleshow product will operate under the D-ID umbrella, and ultimately two platforms will connect, D-ID CEO, Gil Perry, said TechCrunch.

According to Crunchbase, Simpleshow, founded in 2008, collected over $ 20 million in financing.

The startup has offices in Berlin, Luxembourg, London, Miami, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. As a part of the merger, the company will have consolidated offices in Berlin, Tel Aviv and the United States. D-ID didn’t mention the size of the Simpreshow team, but said that the total entity would have 140 employees.

“Simpleshow initially turned to us for a strategic partnership. We have seen that there is synergy between management teams and products,” said Perry. “We felt that we had to increase our speed in capturing a lot [part of the enterprise avatar video] market. We thought that obtaining straight ones would give us the necessary increase in this. “

Both corporations see a strong way forward for digital avatars for various kinds of movies, including training, marketing and sales. D-ID already has a package of interactive AI-powered avatars, which it offers to its clients.

Karsten Boehrs, general director of Simpleshow, said that when he joined the company over ten years ago, it was largely an agency producing movies for corporations and enterprises.

“To achieve a scale and serve more clients on the international arena, we decided to build a technological platform based on SaaS,” said Boehrs TechCrunch. “One of the first tools we launched was a text tool for our clients in 2017.”

Boehrs added that in the last few years, as artificial intelligence increases, he has began talks with corporations equivalent to Sythesia about potential partnerships and eventually landed on D-ID to be taken over.

In addition to its product, Simpleshow also brings over 1,500 corporate customers, including Adobe, Audio, Airbus, Microsoft, Bayer, HP, T-Mobile, McDonald’s, Ebay and Deutsche Bank. Perry D-ID mentioned that this may increase the company’s results and bring it closer to profitability.

Going further, D-ID desires to build interactive training movies that may allow users to stop the film presented by Avatar and ask them a query or make a quiz.

D-ID has strong competition for the adoption of digital avatars in corporations equivalent to Sythesia and Soul Machine. Companies equivalent to Google and McKinsey They also develop solutions that enables customers to make use of digital avatars.

D-ID has raised $ 60 million so far. The company said that it provided financing for the takeover, but didn’t disclose money.
