Dad acquires 60% shares at Apple Partner Pegatron’s India Unit

Dad Electronics acquired 60% of shares in the Indian arm of the Apple Pegatron assembly partner, when the conglomerate extends its ability to provide iPhone-managuring in this country.

Pegatron based in Taiwan runs three iPhone production plants in India, including one near Chennai in the southern state of Tamil Nadu in India. The agreement appears lower than a yr after Tat Electronics Assembly Company took over Wistron’s Indian Business. According to a person familiar with this matter, some key members of Pegatron, including people with technological knowledge and operational experience, will proceed to work in plants.

Pegatron and Dad didn’t reveal the financial conditions of the contract, but dad stated that the takeover suits the strategy of accelerating the production trail in this country.

“We are looking forward to the new era of AI, digital and technology, when we raise these new objects and expand our activities in India,” said Randhir Thakur, CEO and the managing director of Tata Electronics in a statement.

Dad, who began gathering iPhones in India last yr, quickly appears as one of the most significant Apple partners in Asia, because the technology giant is working on expanding the production base outside China.
