Erin Andrews, who began her profession in sports broadcasting in 2000 and raised the bar by asking tough questions of tough competitors, shared insight into her successful sportswear company WEAR by Erin Andrews and explained what it’s wish to experience the Taylor Swift effect first-hand – “I was so pissed when we saw her in our stuff!” She also shared suggestions on how you can overcome nerves in stressful situations and gave us her best Super Bowl predictions. In October 2019, he launched the women’s clothing and accessories line WEAR by Erin Andrews with co-founder Constance Schwartz-Morini Andrews. “The name WEAR actually came about because in sports my name is EA or EA sports,” he explains. “And well, I know a specific group that registered this trademark before me. However, one evening after many cocktails at an Italian restaurant in San Francisco – when San Francisco hosted the Super Bowl – we were attempting to think of what we were going to call this brand and it just hit me, EA is in WEAR mode.
The brand saw great success at the starting of the season and continues to realize points, currently offering clothing for over 190 teams from many leagues. Not too shabby, considering Andrews has quite a busy job as a sports broadcaster, having covered the Super Bowl, the Stanley Cup Finals, the World Series, the MLB All-Star Game and College GameDay.
So how does he eliminate the nerves before he goes live to tens of millions of individuals? Well, she doesn’t. “I get nervous before every match,” he says. “I think when you’re not feeling nervous, it’s probably time to take a bow and try to find something else to do.”
Listen to learn more about Andrews’ passion for sports, business and intersections, and her ultimate goal as a broadcaster. (Hint: This would require several layers of her signature.)
