Fivetran acquires a census to become a comprehensive data movement platform

After almost 13 years of business, Fivetran He will now find a way to offer its clients a comprehensive data movement solution.

Fivetran, which helps enterprises transfer data from various sources to the cloud databases, was announced on Thursday that he purchased Censusreverse platform, transformation and charging (ETL), which allows corporations to send data from databases and to operating tools. The universal list was founded in 2018 and collected over 80 million dollars of financing a project from corporations comparable to Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz and Tiger Global.

The terms of the contract have not been disclosed, but the census was recently priced at $ 630 million in 2022. After closing the takeover, the entire universal list team migrates to Fivetran, and the Marek of Power Census will eventually be integrated with the Fivetran platform.

George Fraser, co -founder and general director of Fivetran, told Techcrunch that the contract makes sense to Fivetran for many reasons. First of all, customers have been asking Fivetran for years for the opposite ETL solution.

The company thought about developing its own victim, moving so far as to build a prototype. But Fraser said that Fivetran realized that it is higher to use resources to bring a company that had already invented it.

It didn’t hurt that the founding teams of the universal list and Fivetran are retreating. Fraser said that he met a census team, including CEO of Boris Jabes and co -founder Anton Vayinshtok, during the Winter Party Y Combinator 2013.

Fraser and his co -founder, Taylor Brown, were reviewing the YC program, while Jabes and Vayinshtok built a report, a slogan and account management system, which was taken over by Logmein in 2014.
