Chapter 2 Remix debuts in Fortnite Battle Royale, which begins with a real-life music event in Times Square and an in-game prelude.
The musical event featured performances by Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice and the late Juice WRLD. The event takes the global Fortnite experience to a latest level with a major takeover in Times Square, New York. (We also hit the Nasdaq Tower in Times Square this week) While the past 12 months has been a difficult one for gamers, there is not any denying its growth in global entertainment culture.
Fortnite, Ice Spice and Snoop Dogg performed in Times Square yesterday, combining sound and visuals to create a stunning takeover. At the same time, the event was broadcast live on Fortnite, drawing players into an immersive cityscape to experience the concert first-hand, along with a surprise announcement of Snoop’s latest song “Gorgeous” from his upcoming album.
The event, called Remix: The Prelude, kicks off a month of music and gaming, combining the real world and Fortnite in the next season of Fortnite Battle Royale, Chapter 2 Remix, which launches today.
The Chapter 2 Remix is coming with musicians Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice and Juice WRLD bringing their fashion, music and artistry to Fortnite along with the popular original Fortnite gameplay from 2020.
For the first time in Fortnite, players will give you the chance to have interaction with each artist through themed gameplay locations that can launch week by week. Players can even express themselves and represent each music legend through individual artist outfits, which will be found in the Fortnite store.
Remix Chapter 2 culminates in a special way with Remix: The Finale – with a live event on November 30 at 11 a.m. PT. To honor Juice’s legacy and love of Fortnite, all players who log in between 10 p.m. on November 29 and 10 p.m. on November 30 will receive a cel-shaded Slayer Juice WRLD outfit.
“Jarad always loved playing Fortnite – it was more than just fun for him, it was a way to connect with others. From a young age, video games have been part of his connection with friends and family, and being on Fortnite is an incredible tribute to that bond. I know he would be overjoyed to see his love of gaming continue to connect people across spaces like his music does,” Carmela Wallace, mother of Jarad “Juice WRLD” Higgins, said in a statement.
Juice WRLD died earlier this 12 months in an accident.
This week, Snoop Dogg will enter Fortnite Battle Royale and will likely be introduced as the icon of Season 6 of the music and rhythm-based game Fortnite Festival.
“Being a part of Fortnite is about creating, playing and sharing my music and culture with the next generation. My son Cordell is a huge Fortnite player with me, so when the opportunity arose, we took advantage of it as a new way to connect with my sound and style. Anyone can be Snoop in Fortnite,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement.
During the week of November 7, Eminem will do just that reappear following its original Fortnite debut in December 2023.
“Guess who’s back, able to fight, man! I’m serving up all the latest equipment along with a portion of spaghetti…come and get it! It’s good to return back to Fortnite and cause more chaos,” Eminem said in a statement.
And during the week of November 14, Ice Spice will arrive to speak about her experience as a New York princess.
“Getting the probability to return into the game and remix the Chapter 2 map is unreal. It’s exciting to be a a part of something so iconic and I can not wait for players to experience this latest atmosphere. Fortnite is all about creativity and connection, so I can not wait so as to add my very own style to it,” Ice Spice said in a statement.
During the week of November 21, we rejoice the legacy, music and kind of Juice WRLD.
This season we’re also introducing Kicks, a brand latest cosmetic coming to Fortnite. The initial Kicks lineup will include Nike and Jordan brands and original Fortnite designs, with additional brands to be announced in the future. The first pair of Jordans will likely be available on November 12 as a part of the seasonal Remix Pass.
The Chapter 2 Remix is a latest, nostalgic take on the Fortnite Battle Royale Seasons that players will remember from the original Chapter 2. The Chapter 2 Remix comes almost a 12 months after the launch of Fortnite OG, which saw over 100 million players playing Fortnite this month.
