
Canary, a hotel guests management platform, announced on Thursday a series D series price $ 80 million in a round run by Brighton Park Capital.
Harman Singh Narula and a childhood friend SJ Sawhney launched a company in 2018 to assist hotels in digitizing and automating guests’ interaction. Until now, the company has collected almost $ 180 million.
“Running the hotel is more and more complex,” said Singh Narula, said Techcrunch. “The expectations of guests are constantly developing, and personnel deficiencies still burden the operations. We thought that the hotel market was underestimated by technology and that modern solutions can help hoteliers raise the impressions of guests, improve profitability and act more efficiently.”
Singh Narula said that Canary offers a package of products that features every a part of the guest travel, from booking to departure. He said, for example, the company offers services that allow hotel guests to envision in on mobile devices or write to the reception for help. And is based on artificial intelligence, serving guests of shoppers through the voice, network and text with LLM, sometimes offering immediate answers.
“The experience of guest users is completely adapted and marked for each hotel,” he continued. “So, as a guest, you may not know that Canary has helped to turn on travel impressions. Singh Narula defined his efforts related to raising funds as opportunistic.
“Although we did not actively collect funds, there was the opportunity to bring the right partners with a strong vision, values and where we are going,” he said.
Other investors, including Y Combinator, Insight Partners and Fidelity, participated in the round.
Singh Narula said that the capital could be used to develop the company and employ a larger variety of employees.
“We see a journey as one of the most powerful ways to connect to the world,” he said. “We believe that Kanary has an important role to play in making these experiences more personal, more memorable and more significant.”
