She has successfully forged her own path in a media landscape that usually favors a formulaic approach, taking control of her content and deeply connecting with her audience.

Famous for her cookbooks to popular bulletinengaging YouTube presence and podcastRoman has a gift for attracting people to his kitchen, and recently also to her stationary food market.

Each platform Roman explores is an extension of her creative journey, where she continually learns, adapts, and stays true to her signature style.

After presenting several programs on television, Roman quickly discovered the limitations of network media. Traditional shows were burdened with bureaucracy, which pushed her to look for an alternative space where she could authentically express herself.

YouTube became the answer. For her, it is the “people’s Netflix” – a democratic platform over which the creator has full control. Posting her content on YouTube allowed Roman to bypass the bureaucracy and bring her ideas directly to her audience, sharing her love of food and meaningful connection.

“At one point I thought, well, I’ll do it myself,” she says Shawn Walchef With California BBQ Media. “A tool like YouTube is very helpful because it makes it easy for people to get their bearings.”

Opening of a stationary store

Roman’s latest project took her offline and into the physical world: She opened up First bloomfood market in Bloomville, New York. Opening a store had been her dream for a very long time, but the experience meant much more to her than simply running a business.

First Bloom was a way to fill a physical space with creative energy and provide viewers with an unforgettable experience beyond what they saw on screen.

Roman brings a unique mix of creativity, resilience and authenticity to every little thing he does. From the hands-on approach to content creation to the tactile experiences he fosters at First Bloom, Roman continues to blur the lines between digital and physical spaces, connecting with people in ways in which are each personal and lasting.

“I don’t want to live on the Internet,” says Roman. “I don’t want to live in an ephemeral (world). I don’t want to live where everything comes and goes from one day to the next. I want to create things and I want to have a real physical experience.”
