Until the latest episode Founder CEO, I spoke with Sergio Suarez Jr., CEO and Founder Challenge artificial intelligencean emerging force in the artificial intelligence space. What stood out in our conversation was not only Sergio’s technical expertise, but also his journey – fueled by insatiable curiosity, a supportive family, and a constant desire to resolve complex problems.
Big bet on an unconventional path
Sergio Suarez Jr.’s journey It began with a easy fascination: the love of building. Growing up in a family with a strong work ethic, Sergio was exposed to entrepreneurship early on. His father, who ran a heating and air-con company, trusted Sergio with funds and payroll as a teenager, igniting his talent for problem-solving and business management. It’s not only about the numbers; it’s about finding modern ways to enhance performance.
Interestingly, Sergio didn’t follow the conventional path. From playing professional poker for eight years to working at the NASDAQ stock exchange, his profession path was anything but predictable. However, each experience enriched his entrepreneurial toolkit, sharpening his risk management skills and teaching him to anticipate challenges – a key trait that ultimately served him well as a founder.
The birth of artificial intelligence
The origins of Tackle AI are a story of determination and foresight. After successfully purchasing a company where he sold live event options, Sergio felt able to take a more modern step. “I wanted to build something real,” he said, recalling those beginnings. With a team of friends and colleagues working in his basement, Sergio spent almost a 12 months perfecting the core technology that became the basis of the Tackle AI solution. The mission was to build artificial intelligence that would automate the complex task of processing unstructured documents, especially in healthcare.
The name Tackle AI got here to Sergio almost whimsically. Without engaging any extensive branding agency, he selected this name on a Sunday afternoon while watching football, combining his passion for solving problems with an uncomplicated approach to business.
Fighting the market and achieving growth
Since its founding in 2017, Tackle AI has experienced extraordinary growth, driven by modern technology and vision. Using a proprietary artificial intelligence system, Tackle AI has revolutionized the way firms process documents, especially in sectors akin to healthcare and legal services. What began as a small basement operation has now expanded to processing thousands and thousands of documents for hospitals and law firms, proving that investing in unique, proprietary technology may be a game changer. Sergio made the brave decision to build from scratch. “We have our own stuff. We build our things from scratch,” he said, emphasizing the importance of originality and independence in the company’s development.
Next hand
Looking ahead, Suarez remains focused on deepening Tackle AI’s impact in healthcare and legal services. But perhaps more importantly, it proves that the path to success in technology doesn’t have to go through traditional channels. Despite the company’s exponential growth, Sergio remains passionate about technology itself. “I play a CEO,” he admits with a laugh, emphasizing his true penchant for problem-solving and invention over boardroom politics.
A takeaway for aspiring entrepreneurs
What makes Sergio Suarez Jr.’s journey. What’s so fascinating is not only his success, but also his honest reflections on the realities of entrepreneurship. He challenges the romantic idea of perfect “work-life balance” and advises aspiring founders to embrace the challenge of building something from scratch. “This whole work-life balance thing doesn’t matter,” he said. “If you approach it with the idea that you will set your own working hours, the opposite is true.”
His advice is clear: surround yourself with the right people, select those that have a proven track record of success, and never hesitate to take daring risks. Above all, Sergio’s story reminds us that zeal and perseverance are the true catalysts for creating something extraordinary.
