Allison Baum Gates, general partner, SemperVirens Venture Capital
Allison Baum Gates is the complementary partner in Sempervirensa enterprise capital fund investing in healthcare, fintech and SaaS for enterprises. To date, it has raised a whole lot of thousands and thousands of dollars from LPs in the US, Europe and Asia and has invested capital in over 70 firms, including nine unicorns and 24 seed firms, and holds 10 board positions.
Gates has been featured in major publications reminiscent of the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes and TechCrunch, and has taught a whole lot of business school students. She is a lecturer in management at Stanford University GSB and the creator of Breaking to Venture (McGraw-Hill, 2023), a comprehensive guide to navigating the VC industry. Her second book, “Beyond the Pitch: The Psychology of Raising VC Funding,” can be released next 12 months. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with honors from Harvard University and is fluent in three languages.

Holly is a founding partner of Alexis Ohanian’s early-stage enterprise capital firm, Seven Seven Six. An experienced investor with over 20 years of operational experience at firms reminiscent of Pixar and Reddit, Holloway supports transformational startups across a variety of sectors.
