Congratulations Perfect divorce BREAK No. 1. How does it feel?
It seems surreal. My brain didn’t catch up.
Being No. 1 on the bestseller list is a fairly large sign of success, but how do you personally define success?
Once it was a recognition of getting a bestseller status, selling thousands and thousands of copies and great progress. But I think that my definition of success modified about a yr and a half ago and that is when I had serious burnout. I didn’t have the right band around me, so when I reached a breakthrough, I knew that I needed to make a change to proceed this profession. I modified the whole band around me, and now I define success as a possibility of respiration so that other people in the room speak on my behalf and take a day without work without feeling guilty that I should do something to do in my profession. This is the success.
When . Perfect marriage He got here out for the first time, you weren’t yet a well -known author. When you wrote a continuation or did you know that every written sentence would probably be read by thousands and thousands of individuals?
The same when I create movies for social media or write books. I forget that other people will read or see it. I write my books for me. The first book I have ever written was literally for myself. I didn’t attempt to be published. It was speculated to work through the sadness of my mother’s loss.
What did you do before you became a author?
I was a global senior manager of social media, so I wrote my first 4 or five books while working full -time. The work was principally from 8 to five, so I wrote during the night and weekends. I might do these great writing sessions, in which I worked from 10 am to 21:00, I still do it, despite the fact that I’m a full -time creator from March 2021. I feel that if I spirit it, it makes it possible to get the reader.
Can you tell us about the way you come up with your thrillers? Or possibly you give it when going?
I is not going to start writing books until I can summarize it in a sentence or two, so he has this very industrial hook. I like to jot down a marketing copy, so it’s the second song that I write before I start history. Then I make sketches of characters and sketches of settings, so I have the impression that I actually know them. This is all my research. I make some outline, but never for the whole book, because I need the story to alter, and the characters breathe and not get stuck in this outline. Sometimes I surprise myself. I often know large twists, but other small twists and disclosure are often surprises that I didn’t intend to jot down. They got here out while writing a sprint.
Success often does not come easily – any advice which you could share about dealing with rejection?
Well, to not brag, but I had over 400 bodies in my profession. But from the very starting I knew not taking it personally. I knew it was a creative profession and the rejection was inevitable. So I treated every “no” as “not now” or “noble test”. Now that I had agents and editors who rejected me when they wish to work with me now, I never treat it as “oh no, I will be malicious.” I think every part happens for some reason. If that happened in a different way, I would not have a profession I have now. Maybe even the books I wrote could be different, or I would not have so many behind me if I didn’t have to make all of it for a very long time.
Can you talk about the marketing breakout you had Perfect marriage With Thicket?
I had a very small publisher and there was no marketing budget. I know I needed to sell it. So I got on Instagram and Facebook. Then I saw Tiktok and then he was considered an application for dancing teenagers. But I scrolled and realized: No, there are other things here. People demand the community. They wish to share their preferences. So I began to sell my book there, and one of my first movies received five million views and ended with filming Perfect marriage Up to three No. 3 on Amazon. So I started to develop reading. But I knew I didn’t just wish to market my books. I desired to find a way to attach with my readers, share a part of my life – my husband, my dogs, behind the scenes, my humor and my personality. I made sure that it was not only transactional. It was more about creating a community between me and my readers.
What was the movie about?
Created the Booktok trend. I pretended to be a hero in my book and told everyone that my husband was accused of murder and his lover was a victim. Then I raised the book and said: “This is actually the plot of my new book.” He just accosted people. It doesn’t really work because other authors did it. The publishers even did it. Readers did this about their favorite books. So it became very saturated. Now I attempt to be as natural as possible when I’m in front of the camera.
