REVOLT names renowned serial entrepreneur Pinky Cole Hayes as its first Creative Visionary in Residence

A few weeks ago I drove past Slutty Vegan here in Brooklyn. In case that term is recent to you, A wanton vegan is a restaurant, not a person. Founded in 2018 by Pinky Cole Hayesis a chain of plant-based burger restaurants known for their unique, flavorful vegan burgers with catchy names, vigorous atmosphere and dedicated customer support.

The restaurant places an emphasis on inclusivity and social impact, often engaging in social and activist work, which broadens its appeal to a wide audience looking for greater than just food, but a movement they’ll join.

It should come as no surprise then that Pinky recently joined REBELLION as the first-ever creative visionary in residence.

I recently had the opportunity to talk with Pinky to learn more about REVOLT and her revolutionary recent role.

What is REVOLT

REVOLT offers a mixture of music videos, live performances, news and original programming focused primarily on hip-hop culture, but also covering other musical genres popular among youth cultures.

The network positions itself as a platform to advertise cultural leaders and next-generation voices, delivering content that features insights from artists, creators and influencers.

Pinky describes REVOLT as a network that celebrates and highlights the achievements of African Americans in various fields including music, entertainment, media and entrepreneurship.

“REVOLT provides an avenue for people to do these things, whether it’s music, entertainment, media, entrepreneurship. So I wanted to be associated with that.”

What will Pinky be doing as a REVOLT Creative Visionary in Residence?

In this recent role, Pinky will help deliver creative projects for REVOLT, developing recent and existing plans into marketable projects. This initiative marks the starting of REVOLT’s recent Creative Visionary in Residence program, where the team will work with 1-2 creatives per 12 months to brainstorm, ideate, and dream together—ultimately creating their very own ideation pipeline.

Given the job title, this is clearly a role for someone who is each modern and strategic. Fortunately, Pinky can easily meet each criteria.

As Pinky put it, “I’m an idea machine, I can come up with 30 ideas really fast. So I reached out to the CEO and it just made sense.”

Key points of her contribution include her collaboration with REVOLT’s CEO and her role in shaping the network’s creative direction.

She continued, “My role at REVOLT is to help bring big ideas to life. New opportunities that would be a great fit for the web, finding new ways to keep the customer engaged based on what we see in the world, what’s happening, what people are paying attention to, and just giving them a fresh perspective on how to take the brand to the next level.”

What does Pinky have planned for REVOLT?

“We have a few projects in the works. There will be an event that will highlight changemakers in different industries, which I really like, especially because I don’t think there’s enough space to highlight entrepreneurs.”

Pinky stressed the importance of making spaces that appreciate and have a good time the entrepreneurial spirit, which aligns with her vision of entrepreneurs as the recent celebrities.

Paying tribute to her enthusiasm for collaborative and creative ventures that break traditional patterns, Pinky stated how much she appreciates the openness of the REVOLT group and its readiness to take on ambitious ideas.

As a father, the last idea she shared immediately intrigued me.

“We also have some really cool stuff going on with kids, where kids are interviewing celebrities. I’m interested in a whole bunch of things.”

You can stay awake to this point by following each REBELLION AND Pinky Cole Hayes on Instagram.
