The San Francisco-based company has raised a $70 million seed round at a valuation of roughly $400 million in March.
Physical Intelligence is the latest startup trying to use artificial intelligence to enhance robot performance and create core software that will be used across different robot models, reasonably than having to create separate operating software for each individual model.
“What we do is not just the brain of a particular robot.” Karol Hausmanco-founder and CEO of the company, told the Times. “It’s a single, universal brain that can control any robot.”
Big bets
Investors have already placed big bets on the intersection of robotics and its AI-enhanced underlying software – especially Bezos.
In February in Sunnyvale, California Characterwhich is developing AI-enhanced robots that it hopes will find a way to perform hazardous jobs and alleviate labor shortages, has raised a massive $675 million round at a pre-seed valuation of around $2 billion.
