“Here we go again… I invented a new product. Back in startup mode. Here we go!” Blakely wrote. In a later post, she explained her important motivation for creating the recent shoe: “For 25 years, my mission has been to empower women through product. A product designed in such a way that comfort was not part of the equation. We’ve been told that beauty is pain… but does it have to be that way? When people ask me why shoes, why now? I say, ‘Have you ever worn high heels!?’ I’ve been dying to invent comfortable high heels since I started wearing them. Not to mention, I was bored with the options in my closet. I wanted a completely new kind of shoe, something that would spark fun and make me want to get dressed again.”

The 2024 Sneex collection showcase includes designs similar to The Blake, The Icon and The Tepper, each promising to deal with the well-known challenges of wearing high heels.

Sneex comes about three years after Blackstone acquired a significant stake in the shapewear giant that Blakely pioneered two many years earlier — a deal that valued Spanx at $1.2 billion and cemented her status as a billionaire entrepreneur.
