Why did I leave my career to start my own company

Why did I leave my career to start my own company

Opinions expressed by entrepreneurs’ colleagues are their own.

I understand that you may focus more on developing your career and considering how others perceive your success and development. This is natural – the world in which we live, often identifies validation with progress. But I would really like to take a moment to share some of my journey with you.

For me, life was about observing my internal suggestions reasonably than worrying about the opinions of others. It’s really about finding happiness in your own decisions and “what if”. Remember to trust your own instincts and chase what is right for you. Your inner compass is really necessary.

You can ask Who is this guy with a strange Russian name who tells me how to live my life? Hah, I’m not a Russian at all, but in fact Bulgarian – a country over Greece.

I have all the time been in a sense a freak, different from others in the sense of all the time looking for more, discovering the world, to find his own unique sense of life, tried various sorts of careers and work in search of himself, and someway looking for the acceptance of individuals around me.

You have the power to define, most significantly.

From an early age I felt misunderstood because of my actions and felt the pressure of other people trying to come to me and impose restrictions on me. I did not know this at the time, but every part could have been relaxed by communication – and excessive communication – about your goals, thoughts and planned activities. I lived and achieved some things necessary for others, and I am here to share the best idea of all: you have the power to define what is most vital.

I had a normal life in a small town in Bulgaria, next to the Romanian border. I was 14-15 when I watched BeachAnd I was surprised by the natural fantastic thing about this world. When I discovered that this film was imprisoned in Thailand, I decided to go there someday. And so it happened – really soon after.

My neighbor went to Bangkok in a guest house from a scholarship created by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and then called the Regent’s school. I decided to go away from my life, leaving my parents-at the time called the idea for freedom and adventure. So I took the appropriate mathematical and English exams and applied to go to the support of my parents, in fact.

I was 16, leaving my comfortable but boring, repetitive life for Thai adventure. I inform you this to show you that not everyone is saying – but that I act on my ideas and dreams.

I immersed myself in every part Thai-foreign students and the openness of all Thai experience. It was one of the best decisions in my life. I call everyone to think about sending your child if they need to, to the guest house on the other side of the world.

Fast Forward: I moved to Great Britain to study economics at the University of Hull, I graduated and accomplished a three -month internship in the European Parliament. And that is where my entrepreneurship desires began. There, a spark began – hit by a slow pace of democratic decisions in the European Parliament.

Don’t get me flawed; I am for democracy and there is nothing higher.

However, at the starting of business processes I had to be in a more fast environment. Push the design into the light, so to speak. I got here up with an idea for a telephone application and based on my scared considering at the age of twenty-two I decided to learn programming to understand the tasks of my potential co -founder and review the software creation process.

It was a bit discouraging for me, because I thought it was a career of an intelligent person – but every part may be achieved with perseverance. Fast forward, about a 12 months and a half, and I finished the intensive software engineering program in Bulgaria-Telerik Academy. I took the opportunity to start working as a .NET application programmer for the Microsoft platform.

Do you remember when an attempt was made to develop an alternative to iOS and Android? Well, it didn’t quite try. To be honest, it is not my cup of tea either. The environment was not appropriate. Project managers often focus on supervising every aspect of their work, while showing little concern for the good of the programmers’ team. Their most important goal seems to strive for greater efficiency and quick release of recent projects and functions.

And although managers and colleagues from the company told me that I was making the biggest mistake in my life, leaving the company, I knew that every part could be tremendous.

Externally, from the perception of all trajectories, skilled decisions and every part that is associated with it, it seemed that I was moving away from success. But I wasn’t glad with staying the course. I did not want to be in the place of older developers in the company for several years in the future.

Did I make the biggest mistake in my life? I don’t think so. This does not seem to be a mistake or failure.

After the software engineering period, I jumped into the largest startup community in Bulgaria-Start IT Smart and their program before the accelerator-with the idea for the application and co-founder of programmers. There I learned every part about the strategy for the startup, throwing, searching for investors and all facets of business and product development. It was energizing. But he did not live on “success”. It was one other “failure” – in the eyes of everyone, and then even me.

While I was after all, I kept the name of the startup and all web sites and decided to create a variety of automobile applications for all brands, only for fun. I think I spent a month in all of them, I added ads and pushed them to each Android and iOS stores. And I left them. I didn’t know much – a few months later I would have over a million downloads of all connected applications, achieving my first taste of “passive income”.

I had a latest idea after automobile applications. And it was learning e-commerce and creating white products. I began selling products on Amazon with my own brand. The first signs of winning, and at the same time are involved in the marketing of startup organization, start IT Smart. From scratch to six characters from filled by Amazon. Nonlinear path to “success”, but personally satisfying.

There are much more in my history – attempts and mistakes, travel and life in many countries, discovering and finding myself, chasing my idea of success, happiness and freedom. But that is not why I write it for you. I show you, thanks to my history and previous actions, that life is greater than outside – even social perception of success and all known career paths.

Be different

The moral of this story: Your intuition and heart know higher than excessive evaluation and excessive recovery of the “best scenarios” that your brain invents. Go and be different. Be yourself. Although it sounds so drained and shoddy, it is true. Do this jump of religion and learn from it. You shall be higher for this.

Consider this as a letter to my 22-year-old Ja-going to be even brave, without hesitation.

I consider in you. Live life through test and mistakes – or like a scientific process: set a goal, try to test it, learn from it, optimize your activities and plan one other iteration. It never ends, but that is what life is – experience all this and learn, having fun with every moment, from fights and pain to the happiest, after these jumps of religion in the unknown.

Be yourself. We don’t need more copies or people after the set of “best life” of another person. You know what you would like. Go prosecute this concept, be a change, be different and trust that you just are not alone.

I’m the same. I am here with you. And there are many of us throughout the world – entrepreneurs working in silos do not care about external awards, but about understanding life and prosecution of great ideas that we wish to see in the world.
